Online Focus Group Discussion (Online FGD)
Online FGD is an online method of qualitative survey intended to find out the opinions, attitudes, experiences and beliefs of consumers related to the product, service, concept, promotion, idea or packaging under analysis.
This method is based on a methodological provision that each product, commodity or service has a specific reflection in the consciousness of consumers, which provides the basis for development and management of brands. The main difference of this method compared to a focus group discussion is that the discussion takes place with the consumers using their computers and special software. This creates an anonymous environment, which enhances psychological security and provides better opportunities for each respondent to express their opinions. The discussion is supervised by the moderator and the respondents type their answers in chats. This method is applied when the target group is using internet services. This method allows having a discussion with respondents from different cities and towns of Lithuania and foreign countries at the same time.
During a discussion, the moderator asks the participants questions according to a questionnaire agreed on with the client.
A discussion takes around 1.5–2 hours.
